The lands in Alaska is fun-filled added to it the natural scenic beauty containing huge forests and marsh lands, any visitor visiting it for the first time would never want to come back as Alaska, which has some of the natural National Parks and Wild life Refugees. It has some of the biggest national forests; you can see animals in its natural habitat.

Alaska, the place of natural beauty, is a one stop go not only for people wanting to explore natural resources but a place for relaxation from the worldly hush-hush. A person seeking solace can find natural peace and solitude. As the name goes ALASKA, it gives you that humane, kind voice from within, the place of beautiful mountainous ranges and natural habitat.

This is just the normal things you here or come across about Alaska. But when you actually visit the place, it’s much more than it has to offer! There are lots of hilly regions, rough rugged roads leading to twists and twirls of its ecosystem. You come across lush-green rainforests, volcanic eruptions and cliffs in some part of its islands, river draining down the deltas and also the icy Arctic Ocean.

Immortal sea connection
Alaska is also well known for its tiny villages existing for centuries, the typical coastal fishing people living for thousand of years of its existence are called as Aleut natives, the place where they reside is belovedly called as “alaxsxaq” known roughly as a land facing the sea. It’s truly a land of sea lovers and nature loving people.

As mentioned earlier too, its one of the largest states of U.S, its ahead of states like Texas and California combined. Alaska is surrounded with 3 seas by its side i.e., North Pacific Ocean, Bering Sea & Arctic Ocean giving it throughout the year wet-like weather.

After World War II, most of the Alaskans are leading a nomadic herds’ life; wherein most of its population is settled at some where near one of its 3 seas, for preserving its natural as well wisely use its marine resources. Since World War II, it has really seen a boom in population and growth in economy.

The population of Alaska has increased well by around 15-20 percent in the period of say 10 years from 1990 to 2000. This is one of the biggest records happening in Alaskan history, of population growing in sea-side communities. Roughly the figure stands at 6,50,0000.

The Alaskan economy has also been increasing like never before mainly because of its population settled at sea-side and because of its marine vast resources. Other than marine products its also well-known for oil production. Alaska produces around 20% of the U.S production, produced at coastal zones of Prudhoe Bay or Cook Inlet. These fishing communities around sea-side indulge in commercial fishing, around 5-6 bn pounds of seafood is caught in Alaskan waters, because of this very reason Alaska is known for its marine research and courses in fishing and sea-food in its universities.

Alaska is also growing in terms of Tourism, Oil and Commercial fishing are two of the main industries. Day in and day out the people visiting Alaska has increased mani-fold. As the visitors to these naturally done up place increase, they do have its positive as well negative impacts on environment, they need to be taken care of.

At the midst of this discussion the faculty and staff-students of the UAF school of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences are leading the scientific research to crave deep into the outcomes on the environment.

Nothing can with-stand the beauty of Alaska, it has its own special class of people as well as environment. It has its own unique identity of having world’s greatest and largest natural resources.
