Alaska Weather and Climate

Alaska is legendary for its winters -- the visitors visiting Alaska mainly come during summers when the temperatures are mild, wherein they can enjoy mild warm summers with clear skies and weather is approaching in its best form.

The visitors prefer in the period, May to September, that’s the best time one can consider over coming at Alaska, the period from May till late June has the visitors enjoying sunny long days and warm cuddling afternoons.

Bright Daylight of Alaska
The longest warming day of Alaskan temperatures comes on 21st day of June, i.e., called as Summer Solstice.

At the south portion of Alaska comes the great Inside passage, at that point the sun faces above the horizon for almost like roughly about for 18 hours a day. The West of Alaska’s climate is directed by 2 main oceans at its side, i.e., Pacific Ocean and the great Bering Sea, yet the internal climate is warm during summers and colder during winters

Drizzling Rains and Snow fall
You can see the clearest skies only during early springs and summers. The Late summers are the drizzly rainy days. There is nothing new, if you are traveling to Inside Passage and you are welcomed by unexpected rains, the only reason being Tongass – the national forest is at the farthest northern corner of the region.

During winters the area across Valdez receives the highest flurry of snow. The coastal mountainous ranges are very well known for great great snowfalls as the moist air around the Gulf collapses with seething cold northern weather.

The Alaskan times are 1 hr behind Pacific time & 4 Hrs behind the eastern time zone.

The Hawaiian – time zones are 1 hour behind Alaska’s time zones. The state, Alaska decades back had swanking 4 time zones, these are Yukon, Bering, Pacific and Alaskan zone. These were somehow pressed hard down to 3 timings in the late 19th century and later after 2 decades bound into 2 time zones so as to bind business relationship amongst different states, towns or cities around Alaska.

Alaska is since then used to using daylight savings time as any other nation. Its begins its DST on 1st day of Sunday in the month April and ends it by October.

The general dates runs from Alaska to Russia. The diagonal lines swings towards east with its 180 degree of longitude to separate Little Diomede i.e., U.S & Big Diomede i.e., Russian Islands straight in Bering strait and then later towards west side across Attu Islands.
